Few people in history have had as much positive impact on the world as Dr. Norman Borlaug. Born March 25, 1914, Dr. Borlaug grew to become an American biologist, humanitarian and Nobel Peace Prize Winner for his work in agriculture. His work helped save a billion lives and he has been called "The Father of the Green Revolution” among many other titles. Dr. Borlaug famously said in his Nobel Peace Prize acceptance speech, "You cannot build peace on an empty stomach."
In addition, Dr. Borlaug has been awarded the Presidential Medal of Freedom and the Congressional Gold Medal and was also awarded the Padma Vibhushan, India's second highest civilian honor.
Through the years Dr. Borlaug has received recognition from universities, organizations and leaders across the world, most notably for his work in Mexico.
